These predominantly watercolour paintings were inspired by a recent journey, seen in the Yorkshire landscape.
‘Peace’ was an experiment in doing a grisaille (an underpainting in Indian Ink) and applying watercolour on top. I had previously seen this method at a local Art demo given by professional artist, Anthony Barrow.
Tranquillity, uses the same reference, this time suggesting more of a daytime scene. It is painted with only watercolour.
Both paintings use a limited palette of six colours or less, on my favourite Canson paper ¼ imperial size. I rather like them together on one sheet, hope you do too.
Thank you for looking and may I take this opportunity of saying, ‘Have a blessed Christmas full of Christ’s love, joy and peace.’ John 1:1-5; John 3:16-17.
Faithfully, Sandra.
