Here is a painting inspired from my own garden which looks very attractive in late Summer/early Autumn as the bees and insects come to feast on the thistles. The painting measures 30.5cm x 45.5 cm (12" x 18") and is on Moulin Du Roy HP paper with both Daniel Smith Paints and Winsor and Newton Paints. I had fun experimenting with a more painterly style rather than botanical and used three different photographs for reference and also looking through the window from where I can watch the bees in action.
